Yemeni Silver Choker Adorned with Granulation, Red Glass and Dangles - Rita Okrent Collection (NE619)

RARE FIND: only one in our inventory

A lovely, traditional wearable Yemeni silver choker called "tanj" as is found in Jabal Sabir, Taiz, Yemen. Circa 1950-1960's.

As seen on p. 120 of Silver Treasures from the Land of Sheba, by Marjorie Ransom (2014).

Can be worn as is, with existing string or be re-finished to replace string and add clasp, 

Measurements: 18 inches / 45.7 cm long including string - silver portion is 12 inches / 30 cm long.  but could be worn as is. Weighs 4.8 ounces or 138 grams.
