The Rita Okrent Collection of antiquities includes Egyptian, pre-Columbian, Roman, Persian, Afghani and African items. She acquired them through legitimate sources and dealers in the 1970's - 1990's. We have no additional more recent acquisitions of antiquities in our collection.
The Egyptian antiquities include strands of faience beads, strands of mummy beads, a group of ancient gold-on-stone beads, faience and ceramic seals, a bronze bell, ancient amethyst beads, stone figures and a stamp seal.
The pre-Columbian antiquities come from various parts of the Americas. Pre-Columbian necklaces and strands of beads are of stone, shell, quartz crystal and other materials. Many pre-Columbian ceramic or clay items are also included in the collection.
