A vintage tesbih of 33 natural coral barrel beads in warm salmon-orange, divided by two small beaded metal spacers. The strand finishes in a metal imame with a dotted oval pattern, a textured tassel cap and three fine chain tassels, each ending in a charm in the form of the Ottoman coat of arms.
Why We Love It
Natural coral in a soft pale salmon-orange, with visible growth lines and natural variation from bead to bead.
The 33-bead count is used for dhikr and cycled three times to complete the 99 recitations.
The Ottoman coat-of-arms charms make a distinctive finish to the tassel.

Dimensions: Total length top to bottom approximately 9 inches. 33 beads, 5.6 mm diameter × 6.5–7 mm long; bead loop 5 in (12.7 cm), dangle 3.9in (9.9 cm) total weight 20.47 g
Condition: Good vintage condition. Some beads have small natural pits and darker specks typical of coral. No color transferred in an acetone test. The metal has not been tested for silver content.

These pieces are glowing! They are so beautiful!!! I picture women wearing them in the sun and imagine how they must have gleamed in their hair. The white ornament surely glinted with sunlight! The ornaments must have moved so gracefully in their hair and with the light striking the pieces. I imagine this was an incredible thing to see! I feel like I understand these adornments in ways I never could have, not having seen them in person before.
