RARE FIND: only one in our inventory

This vintage, gold-washed repousse ex-votive figure was used by the Coptic Christians in Egypt.
It is possibly an old reproduction of an older style ex-votive that was from the mid 1940's. This was sourced in Egypt in the mid 1980's.
Weight: 4.93 grams. 55mm wide, 56 mm tall (including bail
The bail has some damage (visible) but is useable and not broken.
Some of the gold wash is wearing off especially on the upper right.

Ex-votos are offered to a favorite saint as a reminder of the petitioner’s particular need, or they are offered to the saint in thanks for a prayer answered. Ex-votos from Egypt are formed into objects using repousse from flat metal sheets. The forms are then either cut into the shape of the object they portray (e.g., an “ear”), or left in a rectag­ular shape depiction of the object. Most use 60% silver with other metals making up remaining 40%.

USPS First Class Mail (now also known as Ground Advantage) is FREE for all U.S. orders of $35.00 or more, and is $4.00 for orders of less than $35.00.

USPS First Class International Shipping is now available for $10.00 for orders of less than $99.00 and is FREE for orders of $99.00 or more.

UPS , FedEx and Priority services via USPS are available for an additional fee.

For China and India, and some other regions, we only use UPS, FedEX, or USPS Priority Express Mail International, due to better tracking and reliability of delivery.
