Rare Graduated Neolithic Agate Mixed Graduated Biscuit Bead Strand, Sahel Region of Africa - Rita Okrent Collection (S569)

Fantastic mixed neolithic agate strand of beige, white, off white agate beads, rock crystal from the Sahel region of Africa.

These very old beads are identified as neolithic due to their holes, made with traditional tools of the time, which are wider and become more narrow.

A good reference page for such beads:

Sourced in Mali, but like many stone beads, may have originated from the ancient stone bead artisans of India, and arrived in Mali via ancient trade routes.

115 beads total, approximately 29 inches. Bead sizes range from 5-8mm (smaller beads) and 25-31mm diameter (larger beads).
