Gilded Antique Bicone Beads from Sri Lanka - Rita Okrent Collection (ANT559)

Antique Sri Lankan gilded bicone beads.

These wonderful beads were originally sourced in Sri Lanka in the 1970's.

Metal underneath may be brass or copper/metal. Does not appear to be silver. Built in bead caps. Lovely metal work/design. 3 match with similar granulation.

Some of the gilding/gold plate has worn off. They were like this at time of purchase in the 1970's. Likely manufactured in the early-mid 1900's.

Measurements (approximately): 16x12.6mm for granulated, 17.9x13.3 for non granulated bead.
