Selection of Exquisite Uzbeki Bridal Temporal Ornaments - Rita Okrent Collection (C928)

Item: S

RARE FIND: only one in our inventory

Rare and exceptional large 19th century Uzbeki bridal temporal ornaments, showcasing superb Bukharan parcel gilt silversmithing. Each piece features an intricate filigree network set with parcel gilt embossed rosette plaques and beaded turquoise borders, with cascading tassels rich in colored glass stones and coral beads. A large faceted deep green glass bead tops each bail. Traditionally worn by the bride on her wedding day, these ornaments would have flanked the face as dramatic temporal adornments.

Sold individually.
