Reserved for customer:A highly embellished granulated silver Maria Theresa Thaler (MTT) Bedouin coin pendant with 10 double layers of dangling elements, which include bells and diamond-shaped metal pendants.

 

The most common coin used in Bedouin jewelry is the Maria Theresa Thaler. These coins were from the Austrian-Hungarian empire but minted in London.

 

Large granulated dots with filigree wire adorn the front of the coin, with a raised glass center setting.The MTT coin used as the backing of the pendant is so covered in decorations that the coin is only recognizable from the back. 

 

Circa 1950's approximately. Saudi Arabia or Yemen. Sourced in 1979.
