Choice of Two Stone Pendants from Rita's Design Room - Rita Okrent Collection (P936)

Letter: N

RARE FIND: only one in our inventory

Two ready-to-use pendants from Rita’s design room.

Pendant N

A large antique carnelian bead pendant in a base metal wire wrap, West African origin. The stone displays naturally occurring eyes, long prized for their protective qualities, with rich patina and wear consistent with genuine age and use. Original top and bottom drill holes make this an ideal focal pendant.

Why We Love It

The naturally occurring eyes in the stone carry centuries of protective symbolism.
Rich patina and wear speak to genuine age and use.
Original drill holes mean it’s ready to wear as a focal pendant, no modification needed.

Provenance: West African origin.

Dimensions: 45mm x 19.5mm (1.77 x 0.77 in), 30.3 grams.

Condition: Very good antique condition.

Pendant M

A classic Idar-Oberstein trade agate from Germany, mid-19th to early 20th century, with brown, grey, and white banding, set in a handmade African cage setting.

Why We Love It

A true Idar-Oberstein trade agate, with banding that’s distinct from stone to stone.
The handmade African cage setting brings together two craft traditions in one piece.
A great example of trade-era material still doing its job as a wearable pendant.

Provenance: German Idar-Oberstein, mid-19th to early 20th century.

Dimensions: 42.3mm x 22.8mm (1.67 x 0.90 in), 34.8 grams.

Condition: Good antique condition with original suspension bail missing, small nub remaining.
