Lovely Old Yemeni Coin Holder or Mahfaza, which would attach to the belt of a Jambiya or dagger. Fine detailed silver granulation on front and sides and top of this piece.
Early to mid 1900's.
This is signed by the artisan who made it. Collected in the 1970's or 1980's.
Opens at top with pin. Small bail on left side.
Measures 5.8cm / 2.3 inches tall. 7 cm / 2.7 inches wide. 1.7cm / .7 inches deep. Weighs 73 grams.
