Faux Mended African Amber Beads from the African Trade - Rita Okrent Collection (AT669d)

These are really nicely done faux amber beads made to look like old mended amber beads. Broken beads were sometimes mended with silver so the bead could be rescued.

Not real amber. Made of Bakelite or Resin.  Vintage or newer beads, not antique.

These beads measure 33mm by 22mm. Holes through the side not the middle.

The beads in the photos are examples from the group. Your beads will resemble them closely.
