An exquisite, wearable antique woven silver snake chain necklace adorned with 7 intricate interlocking beads. The snake chain is finely woven and flexible, with the focal bead featuring detailed granulation work. Sourced in Sri Lanka in the 1970s, this piece reflects the region's strong tradition of skilled silverwork.
Circa early 1900s.
Dimensions: 27 inches (68.6 cm) total length; woven snake chain portion 20 inches (50.8 cm); beaded portion 7 inches (17.7 cm); focal bead 22mm diameter including granulation; 44.2 grams
Condition: Good condition. Silver content tested at approximately 90%.

UPS and Priority Shipping Services via USPS are available for an additional fee.
For China and India, and some other regions, we only use UPS, FedEX, or USPS Priority Express Mail International, due to better tracking and reliability of delivery.

These pieces are glowing! They are so beautiful!!! I picture women wearing them in the sun and imagine how they must have gleamed in their hair. The white ornament surely glinted with sunlight! The ornaments must have moved so gracefully in their hair and with the light striking the pieces. I imagine this was an incredible thing to see! I feel like I understand these adornments in ways I never could have, not having seen them in person before.
