Antique Glass Talhakimt Pendants from the African Trade - Rita Okrent Collection (P764)

Color: Green

LIMITED AVAILABILITY: only 6 left

A selection of traditional colorful glass talhakimt amulets from the African Trade.
Glass talhakimt pendants were produced by both the French and Czech-Bohemian bead industries during the trade bead era, in this case between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They were exported mainly to West Africa, where they were believed to have amuletic properties, including for fertility. Mauritanian women wore them in elaborate headdresses, plaited into long braids.

Several colors available.

These amulets are in good condition, though some have dirt on them. Pendant sizes vary between 2-2.25 inches / 5- 5.7 cm tall.

Photos are representative of available amulets. Your amulet will resemble the photo closely. Note: shades may vary depending on monitor/screen settings.

Special:  buy 3 of any color mix at a discount.
