Maria Theresa Thaler Pendant Adorned with Dangles and Silver - Rita Okrent Collection (P456)

RARE FIND: only one in our inventory

Maria Theresa Thaler (MTT) coin adorned with bells, dangles and decorative metal. Double eagle on back. These coins were originally minted in Austria in the 1740's - most MTT coins are dated to 1780 as is this one. Hard to know actual mint date, but this was collected in the late 1980's. The word "Thaler" became a generic term for a large silver coin.

Could be used as a focal pendant and worn from either side. 

Age: At least 50 years old.

Measures 3 inches / 7.6 cm from top to bottom. Weighs 60.6 grams. 

Mixed silver content - coin portion tests as higher silver in 80% range, decorative additions are in 50% range.

Condition: Good. Decoration has impacted coin.
