Tuareg Tcherot amulet of bronze with etched silver plates. Tcherot are traditionally used as protective amulets by the nomadic Tuareg people.
Missing 3 round pins (see holes). Could be filled with something else.
Measures 6.5 cm / 2.56 inches tall.
Hooks for stringing on top on either side.
More information: Tuareg talisman boxes or "Tcherots" were worn on necklaces by Tuareg women and on Tuareg men's turbans. They contain verses of the Quran and were worn as protective amulets, for fertility and for strength. Tuareg girls are given Tcherots by their mother when they reach the age of seventeen.
