Large Yemeni silver Hirz prayer amulet with four top bails.
Circa mid-1900's.
Weighs 144 grams. Measures 5.25 inches / 13.35 cm long, and 1.75-2 inches / 4.5 -4.8 cm height including bails.
This amulet opens, and would have contained a quote or verse from the Koran. Likely to have been an element in a traditional wedding necklace or dowry.
Wonderful workmanship and good condition - will make a great gift or decorative item for studio or show booth.
