Short strand of 13 antique Baltic amber beads, sourced in Mauritania. From the West African Trade. Caramel and honey hues.

Circa 1800's.

Baltic amber from the West African trade is commonly used among the Fulani ethnic group of Mali in head adornments and necklaces. It is also used as trade bead and wealth object in cases of need.

Bead size of largest bead is approximately 20mm. Smaller beads measure in 10x12mm range. Some wear on these beads, but overall a very nice group to work with for your jewelry designs. Good mix of widths and textures.
