Short Strand of 7 Ancient Multi-Eye Islamic Glass Evil Eye Beads from the Sahel - Rita Okrent Collection (AG301)

Strand of 7 early Islamic-era blue glass eye beads found in the Sahel Region of West Africa (Mali or Mauritania).

Estimated to be circa 1200-1600 A.D.

Traded and worn to keep away the “evil eye” in many cultures across the Mediterranean.

A lovely group of beads. Some with double eyes, all have multiple eyes. Eyes in black and white on deep blue beads. Overall very good condition.

Average 12-14mm each (mixed sizes on strand).

You will receive the strand pictured.

Note that the first photo highlights the strand with light behind it, and the second is how these beads appear normally.

Lots to work with in your jewelry designs. Suitable for necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc. Can be used as stunning focal beads on simple necklaces as well.
