Rare Old Black Coral Beads, Yemen, Red Sea - Rita Okrent Collection (C467)

An unusual strand of old, rare black coral beads, likely from Yemen, or the Red Sea region.

Rounded tubular shapes. 29 beads. Beads measure from 28-32 mm hole-to-hole and 6.8-8.7mm diameter (approximately).

Sourced by Rita in Egypt in the 1980's or early 1990's, so these beads are at least 40 years old but likely more than 70 years old.

Beads are in good condition as they have been set aside safely for many years in our inventory.
