Mixed Strand Antique Islamic Glass, Dutch Glass and Other Old Glass and Crystal Beads - Rita Okrent Collection (ANT307g)

Rare old beads discovered in Mali. Mix of faceted rock crystal, dutch purple glass and Islamic glass beads.

The purple beads would have been made in the Netherlands and traded to the Dogon tribe and other West African people in the 1700s.  

Many of the faceted beads on the strand have worn smooth over the centuries.  The tube beads are interesting glass beads of unknown age and origin.
