A special strand of old Dutch and European faceted glass beads, traded to the Dogon tribe and and other West African people in the 1700s-1900s. Discovered in Mali.
Mix of purple glass, blue, red and green glass beads. Most of the beads on the strand are faceted, but have worn smooth over time. Several beads have calcification.
62 beads mixed purple and other antique glass beads on this strand.
9-21mm diameter.
Big range of shapes.
Circa late 1800's or earlier for many of these beads, though some are likely 1900's.
Lovely amethyst purple hues.
A really nice focal bead here and lots of great beads for designing.
