This exquisite curved silver and gold antique - vintage necklace clasp from Sri Lanka / Ceylon dates from the mid 1900's (or earlier) and was originally part of a traditional Ceylonese necklace.
Detailed silver work with box and central design on repousse and curved smooth granulated lines. Would be splendid as a design component or focal pendant but is also functional as a clasp.
Easy to open and close (but doesn't open and close on its own). The clasp opens with a pin that pulls out in the middle (see photos). Has solid hooks on each end.
Very good condition. A little bit of denting on back. Silver and gold vermeil.
Measures 7.7 cm / 3 inches long and weighs 25.8 grams.
