Large Ancient Egyptian Faience Beads from Egypt - Rita Okrent Collection (AG275e)

Graduated beige and green faience beads from Egypt.  

Circa 1200 A.D. or earlier.

When treated with a tiny bit of olive oil, the beige beads become a lovely subtle green.

24 inches of beads. Bead sizes range from 9-20mm diameter. Mixed sized bead holes which are large relative to bead size.

60 beads on strand. Weighs 111 grams. Beads are light weight but hardy. Beads have wear commensurate with age.
