Hard to find small, rare antique carnelian and agate Tuareg Tanfouk / Talhakimt hair ornaments. Traditionally worn by Tuareg women, woven into their hair for decoration, and sometimes as pendants/amulets.

Circa early 1900's. These were the early editions of such amulets made in Idar Oberstein. Larger tanfouk / talhakimt pendants of agate and those made of glass (in a variety of colors) are copies of these beauties, and are not generally as old. G
