Excavated Blue Islamic Glass Beads from Mali - Rita Okrent Collection (AG111m)

24 inch Strand of Islamic Blue Glass Beads (estimated circa 1200-1600). 

Nice shapes and gorgeous hues for designing your jewels.

Discovered in Mali. Possibly manufactured in Egypt which has a long history of glass bead production. Beads were used for trade throughout the region for travelers visiting Timbuktu etc.

This strand contains 39 beads. Some variation in size from 10-20mm length and up to 6-12mm diameter. One bead is broken. All have wear.
