Ancient Black, White and Light Brown Granite Tube Beads, Strand - Rita Okrent Collection (S445)

A super nice 26 inch strand of ancient granite beads, found in Mali. Soft black and white with some light brown hues.

These gorgeous hand cut ancient granite beads are thought to be at least 800 years old and are likely even older. They may have originally been made in India which has a 6000 thousand year history of stone bead making, and brought to Africa for trade via ancient merchant ships.

26 inches of beads. 53 beads on strand. Beads vary in size from 6-23mm length. Mainly tube beads.
