Short strand of 9 antique Baltic amber beads, sourced in Mauritania. From the West African Trade.

Circa 1800's.

In honey golden color and butterscotch, bead size of largest bead is approximately 26mm x 13mm. Smaller beads measure in 16mm range.

18.47 grams.

Baltic amber from the West African trade is commonly used among the Fulani ethnic group of Mali in head adornments and necklaces. It is also used as trade bead and wealth object in cases of need.
