Short Strand of 6 Ancient Islamic Glass Evil Eye Beads from the Sahara - Rita Okrent Collection (AG305s)

Strand of 6 ancient early Islamic-era blue glass eye beads found in the Sahara/Sahel Region of West Africa (Mali or Mauritania).

Estimated to be circa 1200-1600 A.D. or older.

Traded and worn to keep away the “evil eye” in many cultures across the Mediterranean.

A lovely mix of beads. Overall very good condition with visible eyes on all beads.

Bead size ranges from 11-13 mm diameter on this strand.

Lots to work with in your jewelry designs. Suitable for necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc. These would make gorgeous smaller focal beads too.
