Mixed Strand Antique Dutch Faceted Glass Beads - Rita Okrent Collection (ANT307f)

Rare old glass beads discovered in Mali. 

Made in the Netherlands and traded to the Dogon tribe and other West African people in the 1700s.  Most of the beads on the strand are faceted, but have worn smooth over the centuries.  47 mixed purple or clear antique glass beads on this strand. 

Strand includes some stone and blue glass nila beads too. Bead sizes and shapes vary. 

Lovely amethyst purple hues.
