Beautiful embroidery of red peacock / aviary floral patterns on a worn off-black background with a white lining. NOTE that this is more red than pink.
Circa 1980's or earlier. Noticeable wear on part of stitching in which color has faded.

These authentic old Bedouin hand embroidered textile items are harder to find as the younger generations of Bedouin women no longer wear them on a regular basis. Even in the market in the Old City in Jerusalem, one finds replicas of them more often then vintage items like this.
