This beauty is a hand etched antique Sephardic Jewish silver amulet which is inscribed with a blessing for protection referencing the evil eye. From Rita's original collection of Judaica.
Provenance: Likely Morocco, 1920's. Sourced by Rita in the 1980's.
An approximate translation:
"Incantation against the evil eye.
The daughters marched on the wall in the name of Ariel, in the name of the Creator so not have cause to tremble or fear, not during day and not during night not in the morning and not when arising...."
Substantial. Measures 8 cm / 3.25 inches tall (not including bail) and 5.5 cm /2.25 inches wide - weighs 21 grams.
Good condition. Some tarnish. Silver/metal mix (80%+ silver).
A very very special amulet for so many reasons!!
