Favorite Excavated Blue Glass Medium Nila Beads, Djenne, Mali.

These wonderful blue glass Nila (also known as Dardig beads) are as much as a thousand years old and are found in the sands of Mali, from old trading caravans.

These beads measure 4-5mm hole to hole and 4-11mm diameter.

The specific strand in the first photo is still available and includes a broken antique European glass focal bead.
